Returning students can expect to pay their tuition fees in instalments. These dates vary depending on the academic year and level of study you are undertaking and whether you are a home (UK) or international student. Please read the information below carefully to ensure you are looking at the correct information for your circumstances. This information is only relevant for students who are not funded by Student Finance England (SFE).
If you are a full time undergraduate home student you will have two instalments. The first instalment is due approximately 14 days from invoice date. The second instalment will be due on 1 February for the September intake, and 1 September for the January intake.
If you are an international undergraduate or postgraduate taught student who commenced their study AFTER September 23/24 you will have two instalments. £8000 will be required prior to enrolment (or 100% if your total fee is less than £8000). The second instalment will be due on 1 March for the September intake, and 1 June for the January intake.
If you are an international undergraduate or postgraduate taught student who commenced their study PRIOR to September 23/24 (offer letter issued prior to 2 December 2022) you will have two instalments. 50% of your fee will be due before enrolment (less any deposit already paid). The second instalment will be due on 1 February for the September intake, and 1 September for the January intake.
If you are an international postgraduate research student you will have two instalments. The first instalment is due approximately 14 days from invoice date. The second instalment will be due on 1 February for the September intake, and 1 September for the January intake.
If you are enrolling on a short course, less than 21 weeks in duration, or the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) you must pay 100% of your fees before enrolment.
If you are a home postgraduate taught student, either full or part time, the number of instalments will vary depending on the fee being charged:
- Fees up to £300 will be given one instalment, approximately 14 days from the invoice date.
- Fees between £301- £600 will be given two instalments. 50% will be due approximately 14 days from the invoice date. The second instalment will be due 1 February for the September intake, and 1 September for the January intake.
- Fees more than £600 will be given three instalments. 33% due approximately 14 days from the invoice date. The second instalment of 33% will be due 1 February with the final instalment of 34% due 1 May for a September intake. For a January intake the second instalment of 33% will be due 1 June with the final instalment of 34% due 1 September.
If you are studying as a home undergraduate part time distance learning student, home postgraduate distance learning student; international distance learning student or home postgraduate research, the number of instalments will vary depending on the fee being charged.
- Fees up to £300 will be given one instalment, approximately 14 days from the invoice date.
- Fees between £301- £600 will be given two instalments. 50% will be due approximately 14 days from the invoice date. The second instalment will be due 1 February for the September intake, and 1 September for the January intake.
- Fees more than £600 will be given four instalments. 25% due approximately 14 days from the invoice date. The second instalment of 25% will be due 1 December, third instalment due 1 February with the final instalment of 25% due 1 April for September intake. For a January intake the second instalment of 25% will be due 1 May, third instalment due 1 September with the final instalment of 25% due 1 November.
