There are limited circumstances in which the University can fund a dyslexia / specific learning difficulty assessment. However, you don’t need a diagnosis to get a learning contract for your course. Please register with Disabled Student Support to disclose a disability and to access support.
If you continue to struggle with your studies, there is potential for you to be considered for a full diagnostic assessment, which could provide access to additional support from Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). Here are some things you can do in the meantime:
- Complete an online screener to obtain basic evidence, such as QuickScan Dyslexia Questionnaire. (You need to pay for the screening yourself).
- Complete a Skills Check.
- Complete the Essential Skills E-module.
- Attend a Skills session at the skills centre.
- Book onto an assistive technology group session.
